Does it snow in Ridgefield?

They say it doesn’t snow a whole lot in the Portland-Vancouver Metropolitan area. However the area got its third snowfall of the season earlier this month — the most thus far, causing a few road accidents, school closures and cancellation of several public events. Some public places were also closed.

While Portland,OR is said to have received 6-8 inches and Vancouver, WA 8 inches, Ridgefield, WA, a few miles north of Vancouver is believed to have got around 12 inches of snow by the end the 3-day snowstorm. Here are some pictures of snow in Ridgefield, WA:

Note:

If you are travelling to the Pacific Northwest in the Winter, note that it doesn’t snow a whole lot around the Portland – Vancouver area but it does get a lot of rain. The rain comes and washes of the snow in a couple of days after a snowfall so it doesn’t get too messy.Β If you don’t like visiting a place during the rains, you might want to plan your trip this side in the summer or look up the forecasts for those few sunny days that punctuate the rainy winter season that these parts are known for.

That's a lot of snow Divya, and sorry to hear about the accidents it has caused. Nevertheless, it does look very beautiful from this side. Stay warm.

That was quite a bit. πŸ™‚

It IS beautiful and can be a lot of fun. But, yeah, the road can be a dangerous place when it gets this beautiful. It's scary when there is an emergency and you have to step out. When I was in the third trimester of my pregnancy, (that was not so long ago πŸ˜‰ ) snowfall was one of the last things I wanted happening. πŸ™‚

The snowy shots make everywhere look so beautiful but then I don't have to cope with the ice or being snowbound.

Doesn't it? It's fun as long as you don't get too much of it. πŸ™‚ You only hope you don't have an emergency and have to rush out. πŸ™‚

      Welcome here, Fun60.

You bet. πŸ™‚ This time, I didn't have to worry about the 'pains' coming in the middle of bad weather and dangerous roads.
Have a great weekend, Mr. Bhatia. πŸ™‚

Thankfully around here it rains a lot so in a couple of days the rains come and wash off all the snow before you get tired of it.

So much snow, while it is thrilling to see it can be a killing experience with little bit of recklessness.

I'd like to take a plunge in all that whiteness, although it must be a trial to the local populace. That is excellently exposed snow, Divya.

I'm sure. My little boy tried doing a snow angel in this snow and it turned out to be a little too much for that. πŸ™‚
Thank you for that last part of the comment, USP. Nice to hear that from an expert. I was playing around; didn't really know how to take good snow shots. πŸ™‚

The light reflecting on the roof gives it an appealing look, but I can imagine the hardship to get out of the house.

Snow with and without the sun out is beautiful but it can be quite and ordeal to go out and get things done. Around here, it was only the few who had four-wheel drives and snow tyres who ventured out on these snowy roads.
      Thank you for visiting, Haddock
