The Aloha Mural

Aloha! That’s how you greet each other in Hawaii. To see ‘Aloha’ painted on a wall at the airport where we made our entry into the island state, made it such a ‘welcoming’ sight. Later we would hear a lot of Aloha’s from the friendly people who live on the islands of the 5oth state of the United States of America. The geographical nickname “Aloha State” rightly sums up the ambiance of Hawaii. Coming back to the Aloha mural — it had hibiscus flowers all around the word Aloha.  If you are not familiar with the state, let me tell you that Hawaii and Hibiscus cannot quite be separated from each other. The Yellow Hibiscus is the state flower of HI.

And did you notice the O in the Aloha in the mural? That is the map of Hawaii on it– the islands that make up the Aloha State.

Very very Hawaiian!

This map on the wall is also from Honolulu International Airport in Oahu.

Aloha….just the sound of Alcoa invokes so many emotions, ( purely based on all those movies set in Hawaii ) 🙂

I should have just said that that first picture is 'Hawaii in a Nutshell.' That's exactly what it is. Why didn't I think of that?!! 😀

Here the lighting is a little brighter than lounge setting, and you can sit at one of their many tables, or grab a seat by the bar. With a large menu of beers, you might have trouble picking just one. The music at the venues in NYC was upbeat with a mixture of rock and pop, and the food menu is large as well as their seating.
