Catching the Light: Fountains and Shadows

Catching the light: Looking at the light falling on fountains. ...
Catching the Light: Light and Shadows
Central Park, Mountain House, CA.

This week for ‘Catching Light’ we’ll look at natural light falling on fountains and shadows formed beneath them. Have you ever done that?

Never before have I looked at fountains and noticed the natural light falling on the spurting water; never have I noticed the shadows cast by a water fountain. Now, thanks to ‘Catching Light, I’ve begun to observe light a little more and I see what it does to things.

This time I actually caught the shadow of the spurting water! See how cool this is, in the last picture. (The quality of the photograph is not that great — it’s a phone photo. )

Thank you ‘Catching Light,’ and thank you, Monica, for the inspiration.

If you’re wondering where these pictures are from, they are from Central Park in Mountain House, California.

I second your motion. This meme has opened my eyes to so much that plays in the light that I am sure I would have missed if not for Monica … These are wonderful and I do love the shadows cast by the water … how very observant of you πŸ™‚ Lovely post D.

Fun, it was. I wished I was carrying my SLR.
Maybe I'll go back there with my SLR one of these days.

It is very nice to be inspired by other bloggers. The water create quite beautiful scenes with lots of details. What a fun place for photos.

      Thanks Saru.
This time, more than the fountain, I was attracted to the shadows it cast. πŸ™‚
