Yosemite in Late Fall

Yosemite in late fall

Yosemite has no rivals when it comes to what is showcased within the national park on the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. And each season, has an appeal of its own. Each season has a way to add to the grandeur of the granites that play celebrities here. In this post, you are going to be taken on a trip to Yosemite in late fall.

These pictures are from a trip to the national park on the Sierra slopes in November — around Thanksgiving week. It was a time when fall color was past its peak. Several trees had already shed a good amount of their leaves yet there were splashes of yellow here and there.

Yosemite in fall

It wasn’t my first trip to Yosemite. And the sight of those megaliths in the park will never fail to fascinate me. But at the time of this trip (there was one after this too) the colors did stick out and add a charm of its own to the natural beauty of one of my most favorite national parks, ever.

Yosemite Valley in late Fall

One day while we were there, the park got some rain and the sky continued to be overcast. And I recorded some sights from the valley. These pictures turned out to be my favorite fall pictures from the Yosemite trip that November.

And that colorful spray!

If you are visiting in late fall, maybe you’ll even get to see the rainbow spray of Upper Yosemite Falls. 😉 I thought myself very fortunate to have been there when those rays hit the spray at just the right angle to put up this color-show.

Who’s packing their bags for a trip to Yosemite National Park in this fall?

  1. Wow, Yosemite has been on my bucket list for some time and it has moved up some now. We just got back from Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park and they are very pretty in the Fall as well.

    1. It’s absolutely fascinating. I hope you get to tick that off the list, soon. Grand Teton and Yellowstone are big on mine. 🙂
Thank you for visiting this blog, Alan. Welcome here. 🙂

  2. Yosemite is very beautiful! I have many favorite memories from our trips there.

I think Rocky Mountain National Park is also as spectacular in as fall, as there are so many colorful aspens and the elk rut season in late September is always amazing to see.

    1. It truly is. 🙂

I’ve only been to Rocky Mountain NP in summer and it was very pretty with all those wildflowers. Oh! Aspens can do magic to those landscapes!

    1. You will LOVE Yosemite.
Thank you, Sharon. True that. We (and our lenses) are too tiny when in the presence of those gigantic granites and their falls. Amazing place!! 🙂

    1. It’s a one-of-a-kind of a place, Betty. There are several posts from the national park. Try to go through them. You’ll love the sights.
I’m sorry I missed your link party last week. 😐

    1. Now seems the best time to visit the national park for its fall colours. We went a couple of weeks later and saw what you see in the pictures. Still, lovely. 🙂
      Thank you, Nomad. 🙂

    1. Wait till I get to see it in the middle of fall. Can’t wait!!
I just cannot get enough of Yosemite. You will LOVE it, USP.

      It’s been so long.
      How have you been?
