If you’ve been a regular on this blog for a while now you might remember the trip to Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast, a few years ago. I’m taking you that side again, this time to see Cannon Beach in Summer.
The last time we were on Cannon Beach it was in Spring and the sky was overcast and threatening to send down some showers (Pacific Northwest springs! 😁). We returned there in the Summer of 2019, and this time there were no signs of the infamous rains of the area. Both times, the sea stacks were what stood out most (for me, at least).

This time we spent the evening there so I got to see those rocky structures against the evening light, too. What pretty pictures they made!
One summer evening on Cannon Beach
If you are planning to trip to Cannon Beach:
- The City of Cannon Beach is an hour and a half out of Portland, Oregon.
- Expect rains in Spring, Fall, and Winter
- You will find lots of options to stay on the beach
- Make sure to go get some of your favorite seafood in the many restaurants around there. (Note: There are no fast-food chains, here.)
- The beach is dog-friendly.
- In the evenings you can light fires on the beach and enjoy some s’mores, maybe.
- Look out for the wild rabbits in the area. There are plenty of them and they aren’t very scared of people. Just make sure you don’t feed them as that would mean incapacitating them. They would find it difficult to look for their own food when the visitors are almost all gone in the rainy and winter months.
- Wait until Covid19 is behind us, to make that trip. 🙂 Stay Safe!!
