“Are we there yet?”
If you have kids and are on the road quite a bit, you probably get this a lot. Now if you’ve are on the way to Lake Tahoe and you are travelling from the Bay Area/Sacramento side, there’s a place where you can say, “Almost,” and prove it too.
On US 50E, when the GPS navigation system shows around 15 miles to City of South Lake Tahoe, there’s a nice viewpoint that shows you Lake Tahoe from afar. If I’m not mistaken, this is called the Echo Summit vista point. It’s a place to brake and take a few pictures.
