This week for Monday Mural, I have some pictures I brought back from Oxnard, California. In these Oxnard murals, we have an ocean-themed mural, a gnome and some flowers on a utility box.
Oxnard Murals
The first was found on The Corner Store, a corner store on the corner of Roosevelt Boulevard and Anacapa Avenue in Oxnard. Situated close to the Channel Islands Harbor and the Pacific Ocean, this store mural is a picture of the Pacific Ocean, its fauna and flora, the Channel Islands near here and the activities you can do while you are here in this part of the state.
The other pieces of art here were found in the same corner of Ventura as we were trying to get back on to Highway 1 (which most of you might know as the famous Pacific Coast Highway in California).
Oxnard, California
Oxnard is a seaside town in Southern California. It’s said to be one of the bigger towns and the most populous one in Ventura County.
While we were in Oxnard, Ca earlier this year, we visited the Silver Strand beach a few times, found a whole lot of murals at the southern end of the beach and most importantly, visited Channel Islands National Park with a trip to Santa Cruz Island.
You can also go whale-watching in the Pacific Ocean/ Santa Barbara Channel. You are also likely to see a lot of dolphins if you get out onto the water.

The Corner Store has it all, including the stunning mural. What a fun mural and lovey sunflower, too. I have friends who live in Oxnard. I’ll ask them if they’ve seen it. Next month will be a great time for whale watching, too.
