When one is a first-time visitor to Northern California, San Francisco, a bit of the Pacific Coast, Lake Tahoe, and Yosemite are usually on the itinerary. And if wine or shopping is in the list of interests, Napa and Sonoma, and maybe even the San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore (does this one surprise you? ;)). I’m not sure how many have noticed this, but there’s a Wine Country mural at the outlet mall in Livermore. And it is a reminder that Livermore, CA is also a wine-growing area; more about that, later in this post.
Wine Country Mural in Livermore, CA

I did not find the artist’s name on the mural, but I learnt some things from a search about this work of art. The Wine Country mural at the San Francisco Premium Outlets is said to have been painted by Bay Area Muralist John Osgood. I also learnt that it’s been up since September 1, 2016.
This wine-country mural is a picture of a vineyard, some grapes grown in the area, and there’s even the rolling hills of the Diablo Range in its summer hues. There’s also an orange-chested bird in it, which I’m guessing is local to this area. (Any idea what bird this is? I’d love to know more. Do let me know in the comments if you know this beautiful creature.)

Now, if you would like to see this mural for yourself, look for it on the outer walls of the Under Armour store at the San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore, California.
Livermore, California
Livermore, CA lies in the eastern part of Alameda County, and the area has been growing wine grapes for over 150 years. According to the city’s website, Livermore is the oldest wine-growing region in CA. If you would like to enjoy California’s wine in a less touristy area, this is a great place to do so. Livermore is said to have over 50 wineries and over 40 tasting rooms.

Wonderful murals, one wants to taste a wine (In Tuscany we once visited a farm that produced wine and oil – interesting and very yummy!).
Was it Olive, Iris? 🙂
They are said to be a great combo for our taste buds
Stunning mural. Sorry can’t help you with the bird.

…DFee, this mural is beautiful. But imagine the vineyards without farmworkers!
It sure is.
True that! We’d have a lot of rotting grapes and farm produce. 🙁
