Sights from Santa Monica

Santa Monica Beach, California.

Summer 2020 is winding to a close. And we haven’t been able to make a trip to the seaside this time. 😭The reason: you know all too well — Covid19!! Our governor has been having a hard time trying to discourage people from crowding on beaches and making the pandemic’s effect on the state even worse. So we thought we’d do our part by not planning that annual trip to the coast. However, before fall is officially here, let me take you on a virtual trip to the seaside — this time to the famous Santa Monica Beach.

Santa Monica Beach is a wide sandy beach west of the City of Los Angeles. And it is over 2 miles in length.

This beach and its Pier are extremely popular spots on the California coast. In the summer, the area can get jampacked! See how busy it gets in the spring and you can imagine what it would be like in summer.

Despite the crowds, it is a place to see — for the energy and fun, and for the joy of just spending some time by the Pacific Ocean. After you’ve walked through the hustle of the boardwalk, tried some rides and picked up some food, I’ll tell you where to go if you want a quieter spot.  😉

Santa Monica Pier

This historic pier dates back to the early 1900s. You’ll find an amusement park, music and food here. (I even saw a Trump-look alike playing the guitar on the boardwalk. Lucky me? 😉 Actually, is a was man ‘dressed like the president.’ 🙂 )

The quieter side of the beach

The part of the beach that seemed to have lesser crowds was Santa Monica – North Beach. This is the part of the beach that lies north of the Boardwalk and calls for a bit of a walk from where all the action is. However, there’s a parking lot near there if you want to avoid walking in the sun.

    1. I miss the colours and the sounds of the sea. It feels like it’s been ages! 🙂
I think it’s going to be a while. 🙁 Tlll then let’s just go through the pictures and travel accounts and relive those trips. 🙂

Thank you for coming this way, Mr. Bhatia.
      Stay healthy. 🙂

    1. Having heard quite a bit about it, I just wanted to see it — at least once. 🙂 Now, CHECK✅!
I hope you’ll get to have a few glimpses of it too, soon. 🙂
