Golden Gate Bridge – A golden photo opportunity

International Orange

It is big, bold, bright and beautiful. Painted in International Orange the Golden Gate Bridge stretches to length of over 2700 metres and dates back to the 1930s. A mark of strength and architectural prowess, this bridge adds so much of grandeur to the already scenic San Francisco Bay area.

— An excerpt from Splendour in Suspension ( a post from my very first visit to the Golden Gate Bridge)

According to wikipedia, International orange is a color used in the aerospace industry to set objects apart from their surroundings, similar to safety orange, but deeper and with a more reddish tone.

    1. Thank you Deb. Now that's a nice compliment :).
I do want to learn some photography; will do that sometime soon. I won't be making a profession out of it, tho'. It could support my writing. 🙂

      Have a good weekend.

    1. Oh she is, Mr Wind.

I believe only the maintenance people have that privilege :(. It would be great if we could see SF and Sausalito from those heights.

Thank you all for your comments. I got the email notifications but they haven't come up on this page. Did you guys delete them or does blogger have a problem? It's seems a little odd that 3 comments aren't showing up here and one comment I received on my personal blog.

Thank you all, once again. Do visit Tipsy from the Trip again 🙂

    1. Hey in your blog dashboard , there is a comment tag -under which there are two tags published and spam . Go to spam you will find these comments . Select them and do not spam . these comments will reflect .
      Hope this will help .

    2. Aha! why didn't I think of that! Generally I never have comments going into spam, so almost forgot abt it.
Thank you so very much, Dhiraj for taking the time to help me solve my problem here. I shall remain indebted. 🙂

      Thank you once again.

    1. Thank you so much, Deepak. These pictures were taken with a point-and- shoot. I have a set of pictures I took when I got an SLR of my own.

It is an iconic structure and there's something about it that makes you want to go on taking pictures of it.

  2. Isn't it amazing? I used to commute across to the north bay for around 3 months. Everyday, GG bridge would look different. It was magical. 🙂

    1. Oh it is! Yeah I've seen pictures of it, and you said it right– it is magical. If only SF didn't have so much of parking problems. I'd have gone and visited the bridge every now and then. Now, I'm desperately waiting to see it at night.

Did 'you' also fall in love with SF?
