Utah’s rocky deserts – I

One morning in Utah’s rocky desert-land.
The dry land watching the sun on its way up.
And catching some early morning light.
And my lens was busy catching the landscape catching the light.
These pictures are from a moving train.
Utah’s dry side, its canyons and rock forms and all, was like a grand treat for my eyes and my camera. And the morning light that shone on the landscape made it a grander.
Thank you for the votes, Indibloggers.

  1. How cool that you were able to catch these great shots from a moving train, but how sad that the train is moving. Hope you were able to stop in Utah and take in some of it's wonderful parks. It is truly one of our most beautiful states. You caught some awesome light here … nice job.

    1. 🙂
I got to see only the tip of the iceberg, Andrea. I'm definitely going to go see more of Utah in some time. What little I saw of it was beautiful. Can't wait to go see the rest.

Thank you so much, Andrea. These were scenes I woke up to one morning. It was such a gorgeous start. 🙂

    1. In Rajasthan we have a 'Sandy Desert,' here it is a 'Rocky Desert.'
These are not as dry as the sandy deserts. I guess that explains the bushes, even though they are dry ones.

Thank you so much, Alok. 🙂

    1. I sweat it can be.
The first time I saw the desert was a little over a decade ago. I saw the a part of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, India and it made me ecstatic. 🙂
Deserts have a beauty of their own..

    1. It is special. I love rocky places. Passing through these interesting landscapes was a treat. And light made it even better.
Thank you for the opportunity to put this up, Monica. 🙂

    1. I thought it was charming too, maybe it's because this is not a scene I'm too used to. I was awed. It was great to wake up to this.
      Thank you, Nomad. 🙂

    1. Nature does have several interesting and amazing faces. And light adds another dimension to it all, I believe. 🙂
      Thank you for visiting. 🙂

    1. Oh no, not at all. I understand. There was a time I hadn't seen it. And when I did, it awed me. That was a part of the Thar.
I hope you get to see some kind of desert soon, Shweta. You'll love it.

There's a travel story coming up on your blog right? 🙂 And that's probably going to be after the A-Z challenge, huh? Looking forward to that.

    1. Thank you, Nisha.

I think deserts are beautiful be it a Sandy Desert or a Rocky one like this or any other. Each has a charm of its own, I guess. 🙂

Nice to see you here, Nisha. I hope you'll visit again. 🙂
