Humanity Is Key in San Francisco

Humanity is Key, San Francisco, CA.

Neighboring the Queeros Mural you saw on Monday Mural you saw a couple of weeks back, is this one called Humanity is Key. This San Francisco Mural is by artist Chris Gazaleh.

My reading tells me Chris Gazaleh is a local artist and that this mural here is at the intersection of Market Street and Octavia Boulevard is a reflection of his Palestinian culture. The mural has been up here on Elgin Park Apartment since 2018.

We were just about to get onto the freeway when I noticed this mural so these pictures don’t do justice to this mural. You can see all of it and different parts of it too, on the artist’s official site —‘Humanity is Key’ Mural. You can learn more about the mural there.

If you’d like to see this mural while you are in the ever-charming city of San Francisco, look for it beside the ramp on Octavia Street, as you get on to US 101. Happy Mural-hunting. 🙂

You can see more of Chris Gazaleh’s work HERE

  1. …humanity should be the key! I love the floating feeling of this mural. Thanks for sharing it.

    1. Oh wow!
SF seems to always have some great art on its streets.
Although it wasn’t here that I saw my first few murals, I believe when I started blogging about murals, I started with street art from San Francisco. 🙂

I’d love to come and see that post. Thank you for the link, Jackie. 🙂

      1. Jackie, I checked it out. Interestingly, it’s among my first few murals for Monday Murals. I believe the Bill Weber work is still up there.
It’s is an iconic one. 🙂

        Thanks again. 🙂

    1. That tree in the mural could easily be one for Parul’s TTL, don’t you think. 😀
That’s a lovely tree and the mural is great as well. 🙂

Thank you for coming this way, JoAnna. 🙂

  2. I was just leaving a comment when I heard a “bang” and then my electricity went out. I stepped outside to see if it was just me, or everyone on the block. My next door neighbor was outside and he told me he had called the electric company and reported the outage. They said they would send someone out to check the problem. My electricity finally came back on at 11:17 this morning. It had been out since shortly before 5:00 p.m. last night, around 19 hours. My apologies if you thought I had forgotten or was ignoring you.

That is one fabulous mural and I went to his web site. He is quite prolific and the mural you shared is sure HUGE!!! Wha t a remarkable find.

  3. Thank you for sharing your insights on this powerful mural! Art has an incredible ability to convey messages of hope and unity, and it’s inspiring to see how this piece reflects the spirit of humanity in San Francisco. I appreciate your thoughts on the importance of public art in fostering community connections and sparking meaningful conversations. It would be wonderful to hear more about the artists’ intentions and how the mural has impacted those who see it. Your appreciation for art as a vehicle for change truly shines through
