This week, we go to see some adorable little library murals in Redding, California. The outer walls of this cute little library have some apt subjects painted on them — some storybook readers who look like they absolutely belong there.
Little Library Murals
Featured on the walls of this library are a few readers with their noses deep inside some books, oblivious of all the noise around them: visitors to the museum and the cafe at the corner, the tourists out to see the Sundial bridge, a music band in the middle of a performance at the park across the road, and the birds chirping by the banks of the Sacramento River. The readers honored on the walls of this little building are a wise owl holding up an open book, a tower of turtles trying to do some reading, and … is that a bobcat with a hard-bound book?

Now, if you’d like to see this little library for yourself when you’re in Redding, CA, it is just outside the Turtle Bay Museum, and on your way to the imposing Sundial Bridge. You can use 1100 Aboretum Loop Trail (Redding, California) as the address.
I like the idea of seeing little murals on little libraries. I’m going to look for them now. Have you spotted any? If you have, tell us about it, and feel free to leave a link to a blog post or social media post you might have it on.
By the way, if you’d like a peek at the steel-and-glass bridge near this library, visit —
