Interesting Finds: When I saw a Painting on a Saw

Painting on a saw

Today what I have for Monday Mural is not a painting on a wall but a painting on a saw on a wall. It was a hand saw used as a piece of decor. And on it was a painting — a landscape bathed in Fall colors. Now that does the job of a mural even if it is not a mural, doesn’t it? 😁

There’s a barn, a house, and lots of trees with fall foliage. Even the vegetation on the ground is in autumn hues. And all of that is painted onto the blade of the saw.

What a lovely piece of art! The artist’s name is at the bottom but I’ve not been able to read it. Do you think you can decipher that?

I thought the painting on the saw was a great idea and I love how it was used as a piece of decoration in a home up in the mountains. I looked up ‘paintings on a saw’ on the internet and saw so many images of art on hand saw blades so it’s not a rare piece, I see. 😁 Have you seen one? Or have you seen something else turned into an interesting canvas?

I found this painting-on-a-blade of a hand saw at a vacation rental in Shaver Lake, California. It’s a little mountain town up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. And the town gets its name from a lake in the area.

  1. Quite an unusual piece, and it’s beautifully painted too. I’d never seen one before.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Dee

    1. Oh yeah? Nice to know that.
I love the idea. It’s creative. The painting seems to soften the — let me say –‘tool.’ 😀

Here’s wishing you a lovely week, Elizabeth. 🙂
