Fun facts from Singapore: Some Singlish and other interesting info that may or may not be true. Whether you're visiting or not, you'll find this amusing. ...
Singapore Lingo or Singlish

I can’t seem to keep my hands off travel brochures/booklets when I’m visiting some place. Recently when I was in Singapore, I grabbed a couple of these things in print and came across some pretty amusing stuff. Ready for some fun facts from Singapore?

Know your Singlish

The first one is called Know your Singlish and here’s a scan of it:

Fun Facts from Singapore - Singlish

When in Singapore: Know your Singlish

I enjoyed reading the Singlish … really interesting, lah. I’m sure this would have been very useful to me if I had spent more time (than I did) in this island city.

Don’t things like this make those travel booklets much more fun?!
Don’t miss the next. This one is sure to amuse you. This is part of a page that apparently aims at dispelling some popular travel myths that are doing the rounds in Singapore. Here’s one from the list.

Fun Facts from Singapore: Fact or Myth

Really??

Well written and really funny. Jokes apart, SERIOUSLY? There’s a myth like THIS? Who’d even believe that?

Did you enjoy these fun facts from Singapore? Got any to add? I’d love to read about it so please feel free to share in the comments section. I’ll take it even if it is from other destinations.

Even I never heard of that farting thing, that's too comic to be true, even as a myth.Loved this post Divya, having been in Singapore, I could actually relate to this, but never knew a term like Singlish existed:)

Exactly! too funny to be a myth even. 😀

I had a very short visit, but a friend's hubby did a lot of imitation of the way people speak, so it made sense to me. The Singlish part may not seem funny for people who haven't been there, I guess. The farting myth, however is universally hilarious! 😀
