There’s no dearth of amazement at The Venetian in Las Vegas. Now that I’ve shown you The Grand Canal in the Resort, let me show you the artistry on the walls and the ceilings. In the previous post, I mentioned the ‘illusion of being outdoors’ that you get while doing the indoor Gondola Ride. Look at these painted sky ceilings and you will see what I meant.
At first, I thought the blue skies besprinkled with white fluffy clouds must be something like wallpaper up on the ceiling. Later, on the resort’s website I found a reference to the illuminated painted ceilings of clouds above the Grand Canal Shoppes and I said to myself — that’s one for Mural Monday.
So here are those sky ceilings of The Venetian in Las Vegas, NV.
Did you know that they play with the light here on these sky ceilings to make it look more realistic?
I remember it felt like dawn when we had gone down to get some breakfast at a restaurant by the grand canal. And then as the day progressed, the light that bounced of those ceiling got brighter and brighter.
After we were done with our Gondola Ride and were marveling at the very – Italian frescoes up on the ceilings of The Venetian, I came across some smaller samples of the sky ceilings.
Look at this blue sky and white clouds canopying a grand chandelier at The Venetian:
I’m not done showing you around The Venetian. I did find some more murals at the resort. Then there are those incredible frescoes up on those ceilings. All that, in the coming weeks.
Got a Vegas trip coming up?
