I was there for the wine but it was the locale and the handsome riding horses at Cooper-Garrod that gave me a high that day.
This ranch near Saratoga owned by the Coopers and Garrods seemed to have as many horses as a place would need to take visitors on eco-tours around their vineyards, to conduct riding lessons and for shows and games for summer camps. There were ponies for the little ones to ride on too. Apparently they also had rentals and boarding for horse-family.
We could not go on the eco-ride as our little one was too small for the horses and even the ponies. Nonetheless we got to walk around this homely ranch and soak up the scenic beauty that surrounds the winery.
