Catching some late night city lights @ Bangalore. |
These pictures were shot (on a cell phone) from Ebony, the restaurant on the 13th floor of Barton Centre. It was almost 11 pm, around 2 hours after the blast on Church Street, last month. |

That large dark area is fascinating!!! I am guessing it is the roof of a large building…
I love the patterns the lights make, from such a height!!
Hey Judy,
There's a parade ground where you see the dark area. Had I taken that picture a little earlier, I'd probably have gotten more lights in there. I wouldn't mind dining there, just for the sake of a few more pictures. D
I hope you are doing well.
Thank you for dropping in again, Judy.
13 is my lucky number … hope it is yours too 🙂 Great catch at night … not bad for a cell phone:)
Andrea @ From The Sol
It is?
I'm not sure if I have a lucky number, Andrea. But I'm quite certain 13 is not unlucky. 🙂
Thank you. I need to learn to take cell phone pictures. 🙂
Have a great week, Andrea.
Cool captures…hope you had a night out on the town!
Thank you Laurie.
I didn't have 'too much fun,' that night. 🙂
Good captures.
Hey Ranjana,
Thank you.
Did I see you registered for the upcoming blogger meet? See you soon! 🙂
The dark areas areas make the pics mystical 🙂 But do share the pics taken in day sometime, as I think dark is actually good, as it signifies some green belt.I hope I am right…. thanks
I just realised that although I've been there several times, I've never been up there during the day. I should do that. The huge dark area in the second picture is supposed to be a parade ground. There isn't a whole lot of green there, I believe. I seriously should check out the sight in daylight and see how many tree tops I can spot.
Thank YOU, Prasad.
Nice captures, Divya! It has been a while since I went to 13th floor. 🙂
Thanks Niranjan.
I was there after a gap of 6 years, I guess. And it turned out to be the night of the blast on Church Street.
Cool night captures. Do go there for lunch sometime too! 🙂
Thank you Magiceye!
I must. And I promise to share the pictures. 🙂
Cool night shots!
Thank you Birgitta.
Welcome here.
Your snow landscape picture is PERFECT! 🙂
Very good captures. Miss and love Bangalore.
Thank you, Fayaz.
Not in Bangalore anymore? This really is a city to be missed.
You got me very pleasantly nostalgic, I was on a date at this very place…some years back. am smiling even now 🙂
Oh yeah? 🙂
It is a lovely place for dinners. Gotta do lunch there sometime.
Thank you for stopping by, Shweta.
That tempts me to go there.
Great pics.
Thank you Indrani.
You should. And take some pictures (I'm sure you will). These pictures were taken pretty late in the night. You'll probably get more lights in your picture if you took them a bit earlier.
See you at the meet, Indrani. 🙂
Lovely, Dee.
Have you moved back to India?
Thank you, Saru.
You've been following my trips in India, eh?! 🙂
It's a long(er) stay, this time.
I should be back by the time you plan a west coast holiday. 😉
Ok!
I will keep that in mind. Thanks for the invite. 🙂
I look forward to seeing you, Saru. 🙂
nice light! And I can feel the fragrance of the night air.
🙂
Thank you, Monica.
Btw, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 'Catching the light' to stay on.
Lovely captures at night. I love clicking in low light though I am not much of a photographer. There is an enigmatic beauty about that.
Same here. I'm not exactly good at night-photography but I love city lights and can't help taking pictures of towns that look decorated like this.
Thanks a ton, Rachna.
See you soon. 🙂
Oh very nice. Dark places do add more mystery. Missing Bangalore!
Thank you so much, Meoww.
They do, don't they? 😉
I swear — Bangalore is a place to be missed. Btw, did you hear about the study that says Bangalore is the most liveable city in India. 😉
Darkness and mystery both in photographs and the title.
Hi, USP,
Yeah, a bit of both. 🙂
Beautiful captures. If it is Barton Court it must be MG Road ! Are you in India by any chance Divya ?
Thank you so much, Ram.
Barton Centre — yeah, it's between MG Road and Church Street.
I am very much in Bangalore. Let me know if you come by. 🙂
Interesting shots.
Thank you, Matheikal. 🙂
Oh, an image captured on that fateful night. I was also somewhere near M.G.Road at that time.
P.S: Sorry, I can't make it to the meet tomorrow, hope you have a great time. 🙂
Yes, that faithful night!
The friend I was dining with actually heard the sound. I was too lost in conversation.
Oh. 🙁 It would have been nice to see you.
I'm going to be in town for a couple of months. We could catch up over coffee sometime, Akshay. 🙂
I didn't realize you were from Bangalore. Ebony used to have a fantastic view, but haven't been there in years.
Hey Ramakanth,
Bangalore, also. 🙂
I went there after AGES. Love the views!
