August 10, 2015
After almost a week of tripping along the Karnataka Coast and beach-hopping along the way, we had a couple of days to spend in Malpe. On our second evening there (after the trip to St. Mary’s island and all that) we decided to drive further south and visit one more beach. The plan was to drive along that highway one more time, chase the sun and watch it set in Surathkal.
Β Here are few Β pictures from that evening in Surathkal Beach, in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka.
And we caught sight of the moon before we left that beach. |

You noticed the template? It need a little more work, actually.
Thank you so much, Anupam. π
Surathkal?! π
Yes!
We did some beach-hopping from Karwar to Surathkal. π
I hope you are doing well, Kusum. π
what a wonderful dusk-moon you have shot D! the sea looks calm in the pics and the beach sort of deserted – so ideal π
Thank you, Kokila. It was a lovely and quiet evening at the beach or at least the part we were in, seemed very peaceful. It looked like most people were using another access to the beach. π
Beautiful pics D. The beach is clean and serene and just across NIT Surathkal. Whenever I have passed through that way I couldn't help but to admire the location of the college.
Thank you, Somali. Yeah, it was pretty clean and a nice, serene setting to watch the sun go down. Exactly, where going to college must be like going on a seaside vacation. What fun! π
Mesmerizing captures dear π
Thank you, Maitreni. π
Been having a good week?
A calm and beautiful setting!
Great shots!
It was.
Thank you, Indrani. π

Thank you so much, Chaitali. π
stunning pictures Dee… are these from your India stay last year?
This was at the fag end of 2014. Earlier this year we visited some historical places in Karnataka and some out-of-the-world sculptures. The posts are on the way. π
Thank you Archana.
Wow loved the way you trailed the beaches. Great pictures. This look really serene, Divya.
Roohi, beach hopping along the coast was one helluva trip. I'm so glad I did that. This time we did go do some exploring in Karnataka. And I think it was time well spent.
Our evening in Surathkal was a serene one indeed. There weren't many people around where we decided to sit and watch the sunset. And the beach itself was a nice one. And the pretty colours in the sky were a such a treat. And the following day we drove back to the chaos that is namma city. π But I miss the city, so much.
Thanks again, Roohi. And thank you for sharing this post on twitter. π
Lovely series of sundown, Divya:)
Thank you, Amit. The soft colours really made that evening a very pretty one. π
Moon one is best
