I’m Hawaii dreaming and keeping my fingers crossed. 😉 So today, I’m sharing some pictures from my window seat aboard a Hawaiian airlines flight to the Hawaiian capital, Honolulu on Oahu Island.
It was my first visit to the Aloha State, a few years ago. And we were flying in from San Jose, California. It was an August (in every way) afternoon and the Pacific Ocean looked its best and the islands of Hawaii looked very inviting.
These photographs are from a point-and-shoot camera, and there was the airplane window between the camera and the sights below but you can still see how gorgeous Honolulu and the great Pacific are together:
Oahu’s shoreline and the Pacific Ocean. |
Almost there. |

A bit of the Hawaiian capital and the Pacific Ocean, just before touchdown. |
Honolulu International Airport on Oahu. |
After a few hours in the capital city, we were getting ready for another flight. We were getting ready for take off here. Our destination — Big Island, HI. |

Wishing you a Happy Week ~ ^_^
Thank you, Carol.
I love HI too. I agree, it is quite a paradise.
Happy week to you too, Carol. 🙂
It is such a magical experience to click pictures from Airplane window.. that first one with the air strip ending suddenly in cliff is totally Hollywood types
I swear it is a magical experience. Love doing this!!
That's my favourite pic too. Thank you, Prasad. 🙂
I love capturing shots from airplane windows too and these shots are totally mesmerizing. Hope your Hawaii dream sees the light of the day soon 🙂
Thank you so, so much, Arti. 🙂
Amazing clicks.
Greetings 🙂
Thank you so much, Rupam.
Lovely pics,…I am humming Sridevi's Hawa Hawaii song now 😀
Haha! 🙂
Thank you, Jaish. How have you been?
That was truly a window seat, Divya! What a way to say Aloha! to the Hawaii.
That was the best greeting indeed. 🙂
This is one of the places on my bucket list. Btw, point and shoot are better than DSLRs. They are easy to handle.
Gosh Saru, I swear, you guys will fall in love with HI. Don't just go to Honolulu. There's more to Hawaii that just that city. I think I can visit these islands again and again. 🙂
I love my DSLR and what it can do and that's what use most. But seriously point-and-shoots are best when you have just the time to pull it out and go shoot, shoot, shoot. And in low light too, it's easier coz you don't have to set up. :D. 🙂
Blissfully blue! Look forward to those lovely stories from Hawaii. Nice teaser, Nambiare.
The water looks awesome, alle? I hope it turns out to be a 'teaser.' Our plans are kind pretty shaky as of now. 😐
Thanks nomad. 🙂
Beautiful aerial photography!

Lovely captures , Divya! Hope I can see these lovely sights one day:)

You must. You really must add Hawaii to that list and move it up to the top. 🙂
I too like to capture pictures from the window seat of my flight journeys. You have captured some mesmerizing clicks. Breathtaking indeed 🙂
It's a lot of fun, trying to capture cities from up there, right? 🙂
Thank you so much, dear Maitreni. The water looked gorgeous and added so much colour and beauty to these pictures.
