When I was in Ghirardelli Square a few days ago, I came across a very attractive and minimalist-type of San Francisco wall art. Painted onto white walls, all it had was black outlines that screamed, ‘San Francisco.’ The subject of the mural were some icons that were undeniably San Franciscan. And there were some green and yellow patches added to the wall to give it a very modern touch.
In the mural were some skyscrapers with the unmistakable Transamerica Pyramid standing out, some vintage streetcars and even the very San Franciscan Cable Cars.
Unfortunately these walls did not have the signature of the artist.
I thought these paintings had a very ‘fresh’ feel. What do you think about this San Francisco wall art?
If you would like to see these San Francisco murals when you are in the city, look for them in the building across the courtyard from Ghirardelli Marketplace in Ghirardelli Square. Or just follow the signs to the restrooms and you’ll find them in the hallway near them.
