A panel of authors to look up to

Monday Mural: Found at a bookstore in Dublin, CA is a mural features some of the biggest names you can think of in the English literary world. You can actually look up to them as you go book-shopping here. Inspiring>>

The Barnes and Noble Booksellers in Dublin, California has just the right kind of wall art for a bookstore. That corner of the bookstore where the Starbucks is, is marked with a couple of panels and paintings-on-the-wall. And what might the subject be — the most celebrated authors — the names behind some of the biggest English classics.

Look up at those paintings and it looks like a social gathering of all the literary bigwigs we have read and studied about in school and college. Look carefully and you will see Franz Kafka and George Orwell, Mark Twain and Charles Dickinson, Thomas Hardy, George Bernard Shaw and Rudyard Kipling. There’s Oscar Wilde and John Steinbeck … and the list goes on.

An august gathering of authors

Here, in this Barnes and Noble bookstore in Dublin, you can literally look up to authors as you browse through the aisles. A bookstore is a great place for some authors murals, don’t you think?

I’d like to see more of these. So inspiring!

If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area and would like to go see this artwork, it is in the Barnes and Noble store in Hacienda Crossings on Dublin Boulevard, Dublin, CA.

P.S. I see that several stores of this bookselling giant have these murals. Have you happened upon murals of writers? Does a bookstore near you have anything like this on its walls?

Very nice display. An idea for other bookshops to put their famous writers in a new light.
