Found in Kettleman City: Countryside Mural

A wall-painting of a green countryside, a reminder that winter will bring showers and that the dry landscape around here will turn into shades of green.

This countryside mural was found at the Eagle Feather Trading post in Kettleman City, California. The store itself is in a barn-styled building. It made a fun stop. The Trading Post is quite an attraction by itself.

It’s in the middle of nowhere, or almost. If you are driving from the west, you travel through miles and miles of barren land. Then you see a place where you and your car can stop for fuel. It’s quite like an oasis in the desert. There are even some rich shades of green in here. 😉

It was as we were driving from California’s Central Coast to the Central Valley, that we stopped at Kettleman City for Gas. And then popped into the store next door. After seeing vast stretches of dry landscapes, it was refreshing to see a mural that reminded me of what these areas look like when it is not summer.

It was a pleasant sight — a ‘green’ countryside mural. And in it were some cute and some quirky illustrations. See it for yourselves:

Now that’s something to look as you are in line, waiting to use the restroom. 🙂

California’s happy cows? 🙂

Beer? Or Chocolate milk.  ?‍♀️

While this fella seems to have a lot on his plate, I mean, cart.

What a fun mural! Sure looks like an oasis. Now I´d really like to know it it´s beer or milk they share there 😉

It sure was in the middle of that parched area.

Milk or beer, I have no idea. I noticed those bottles long after I took that picture. 😀 😀
Thank you for visiting, Iris. 🙂

Using all that empty space for humorous art — wonderful! I’m curious about who painted it.

I don’t think there was a name on it. I might have missed it.
