For Monday Mural this week, I’m taking you back to the California coast and back to Santa Monica. What I have here today is a Santa Monica Pier mural that I hope will transport you to this lively and vibrant area in Southern California.

Visit Santa Monica on Golden State’s Coast and you cannot miss the Santa Monica Pier for it is the heart of Santa Monica even if it is not physically in the heart of Santa Monica. And the biggest attraction of the pier has to be Pacific Park, an amusement park on it.

Two summers ago, when we were there in Santa Monica, we were on a pier for a bit so that the kids could do some of the rides in Pacific Park. While they enjoyed the Wave Jumper and bumping cars, I found this mural on the pier.

This mural of Santa Monica Pier has in it palm trees and a Ferris wheel and the structures of the famous amusement park. And what completed the scene were sand, a lifeguard tower and sunset skies.

This Pacific Park mural (or Santa Monica Pier mural) is said to have been done by Marioe. Here are a few more pictures of the painting of Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, CA:

I was there a few years ago but I missed that mural. It looks as if it imitates the colors of the sunset, which you can see from the pier.

Great work by the artists. So talented they are. Thanks for capturing these views for us, especially for people like me who live very far from these places.

It’s been awhile since I’ve visited the Santa Monica pier. I never saw this mural, or if I did, it didn’t register, since I wasn’t looking for murals back then. This is a wonderful entry looking at the pier from the Pacific Park above the pier. Brings back memories. Thanks for sharing this beauty.
