This week for Monday Mural are what might be friezes that I found at Universal Studios in Hollywood, California. If you’re ever there and would like to see these friezes from Universal Studios for yourself, look for these sculpted decorations at the Universal Plaza on the upper lot. It’s not very far from the entrance.
I thought these might be friezes but I might be wrong. If this is something you’re familiar with, do let me know in the comments. 🙂
frieze • \FREEZ\ • noun.
1 : the part of an entablature between the architrave and the cornice
2 : a sculptured or richly ornamented band (as on a building or piece of furniture)
3 : a band, line, or series suggesting a frieze.
— Merriam-Webster (Dictionary)
Another (simpler) dictionary meaning for ‘frieze’ — a broad horizontal band of sculpted or painted decoration, especially on a wall near the ceiling.

Come, Trip with us. 😉
Quite a good variety of friezes and they are quite pretty.
Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Dee.
Thank you for hosting, Sami.
Have a great week. 🙂
These felt very Art Deco to me. They are beautiful and your photos are brilliant.
The architecture, you mean? Is the decoration also called Art Deco. It just might be. I’m no expert.
Thank you, Elizabeth.
Let me see if I can find the right term for this decoration on the wall.
Thanks again. Have a great week. 🙂
