Holdener Park offers views of the Livermore Countryside

Hike through Holdener Park in Livermore and you will be offered views of rolling hills vineyards and farms. Also, a hiking challenge...?...
Holdener Park, Livermore, Ca

Ok, now that I’ve gotten my feet wet, I went on another small hike trying to make up for time lost for 52 Hike’s *Winter Challenge. This time, the place was Holdener Park in Livermore, California.

I’d been here earlier on a hike with my girl pals, did half this trail, and went on do parts of two other trails and it made for a fun, crazy and memorable hike. This time, I was with the hubby and we did only a part of it as we were short on time. But hit the trail, I did.

Here again, I might have only done a little over a mile but it was a pleasant walk through the valley, taking in the countryside with its ranches, horses, cattle and all. We passed some vineyards, too. We were in a wine-growing area after all.

Here are the lovely sights from my walk through Holdener Park:

Hike 2 of 52:

Trail – (A part of) Holdener Park Loop in Livermore, CA
Terrain – undulating
Difficulty Level – Easy

Date – December 21st
Distance & time – 1.13 miles, 31 min.

The Hiking Challenge — If you visited my previous post, you might have read about the 52 Hike Challenge where you set out to do a hike a week for a year. To keep you committed to it, all you have to do is sign up for it, write about/ post a picture of it on social media and just keep it going.

Now that the new year is upon us, if you are looking for resolutions for a healthy 2023, you can sign up here and get started. The stickers, patches and hike log (among other things you get access to when you sign up) should help keep you motivated! 🙂
You can sign up for the hiking challenge using this affiliate link for the challenge.

*Winter Hike Challenge
If hiking once a week for a year sounds like a lot to commit to, you could pick a season to finish the challenge of the season. The Winter Hike Challenge is on now. The signup date is behind us. However, you could look at the next season. If you follow this blog or the blog’s social media channels, I’ll put out some reminders when the Spring edition of the challenge is ready for sign-up.
Meanwhile, you can also test the waters by beginning to hike in preparation for the challenge. If you need that push, you can go ahead and sign up for the 52 weeks and try to do as much as possible.

Happy New Year to you.

A pretty walk indeed and would be about my speed. I’ve aged out of wanting to do challenges but I love to walk and always plan to do as many as I can.

Yeah, it’s a quiet and lovely area. Having had some health challenges last year, the hiking had come to standstill — pretty much. My energy levels are down too. I’m hoping things will get better this year.

      Happy Walking to you, Sallie.
      Stay active. Stay healthy. 🙂

And Happy New Year to you. 🙂
