Over Winter break, when were on our way to Utah, California’s Central Valley was buried in a cloud inversion. It was a pretty sight. But we’d been driving through thick fog all morning and when we finally made a stop for some gas and a restroom break, it was refreshing to see a splash of color in the restroom area. Today, I’m going to show you some not-so-terrible restroom art at a Terrible’s station in Barstow, California.
In fact, it was interesting and fun! What I saw first was a wall-papered hallway. On the wall were some historic photographs of Terrible (Herbst), back in the day. Below it, were the words: Happily serving route 66 since 1959 (see picture above). And beside it, was another wall-papered wall with pictures of automobile license plates.
And when I went inside, there was some cool Terrible Restroom Art!
There were super-heroines on the stall doors in the Women’s restroom. And some fun (and some naughty) lines on the walls.๐
Now for some PSA:
Have you seen some restroom art, recently? Have you been to this gas station in Barstow, CA? Or another Terrible’s Station elsewhere. I just learned that Terrible’s has a lot of art, even proper outdoor murals at several of their locations. I’m going to start looking for them when I travel to Vegas/ Utah anytime in the future. They call them ‘Terrible Art,’ I read.
About Terrible’s — Terrible Herbst or Terrible Herbst Oil Company, is an American privately held gas station company based in Paradise, Nevada, United States. The company operates gas stations in Nevada, California, Utah and Arizona. — Wikipedia

Thank you for hosting, Sami.
Have a good week. ๐
How wonderful, Dee. I laughed at “remain seated.” So clever. When I lived in MO, my house was located on the “old” Route 66 before the new highway went in. I can just imagine sitting on my porch watching the cars drive by as the followed the route from beginning to end. I LOVE this!!
Haha .. yeah, that’s funny. I like that! ๐
Oh is it?! That sure sounds lovely! โค๏ธ
Such a lovely post to start the New Year on your blog! Way to go and more power to your creativity Dee!
