Mosaics from Ventura

Public Art, Ventura, CA

We just got back from another coastal trip, this one in Ventura. And what did I bring back from California’s Central Coast, this time around? Some sunrise and sunset pictures, some murals and some mosaics from Ventura.

Like many of California’s coastal cities, Ventura has a pier of its own. It was when we had gone to see the historic pier that I spotted this mosaic art on some walls of a building (which also housed the restrooms) near there.

Mosaics from Ventura.

With different shades of blue in the tiles that made up mosaics, it was a very attractive work of wall art. And it seemed just right for the Ventura seaside. I see some seashells, a sand dollar and some seaweed (or is it?) in this piece of public art. What do you see here?

These mosaics from Ventura seemed to have been undersigned by an artist who prefers to call herself/himself HST.

  1. Those mosaic tiles are beautiful and SO well done. I think the cobalt blue is perfect for this beach area. I guess I have no idea what seaweed looks like (I thought seaweed was green), but I like the nature inspired art, anyway.

    1. True, it’s very nicely done. Yes!! BEAUTIFUL blues!! I was thinking it might be the dry, brownish seaweed that are washed ashore.
Thank you for coming this way.

Happy New year to you. 🙂

  2. …mosaics made wonderful durable murals, these are beautiful and shoould last for years!

    1. True. They shooood! It’s great that they don’t fade like most murals. And don’t need touch-ups every now and then.
      Thank you for visiting, Tom.

      Happy 2020! 🙂
