Hello there! 🙋🏻♀️😊 Today, let me take you on a quick walk through a part of a seaside city in Southern California to show you some street art from Ventura.
These are some artwork I walked past during a stroll through the city, back in December 2019 when things were — shall we say– normal. It was a week of rain and shine. And we were visiting San Buenaventura State Beach when we walked through the promenade and into the downtown area for a little stroll before lunch. That was when I came across this art that I’m going to show you in this post.
Street art from Ventura — Utility Box art:
First, here’s some work on some utility boxes that I found beside California Street. The first and the third ones are from the intersection of E. Santa Clara (Street) and California Street that led into the downtown area (from the Ventura Pier and Beach). And the middle one — with the shells, conches, and starfish — are from E. Thompson Boulevard and California.
I learned that the art on the first box here is called ‘Four Dresses.’ And the artist is Glaen Redecker.
The middle one is rightly called Ocean Songs. (Both, the title and the artwork are so pretty, are they not?) An artist by the name of Teri Suzanne seems to have painted these boxes.
The third box, the one with the child peeping out of a cabinet is called Hope Chest. The artist behind that brilliant piece is Michelle Gould. The picture of that beautiful boy was lifesize and very realistic that my 5-year old was actually startled by the sight. 🙂
More Street Art: California Dreaming on California Street!
Lastly, this large, eye-catching mural, clearly a celebration of the coastal state was found further down California Street. If I remember correctly is it just a block away from the beach. And guess what it’s called? California Dreaming! The artist that created this gorgeous piece is Evan Mendel.

Oh, now I have an earworm 😉
Beautiful murals.
Yes, back to normal…
Hey Iris.
I hope you are doing well.
Thank you for stopping by. 🙂
I love the third one. I did not understand Hope Chest, but there’s always Google to learn something new. So now I know. It’s really beautiful
That one looks so real! I love it too.
Thank you for coming this way, Bertie. 🙂
I love finding decorated utility boxes. And the Hope Chest is brilliant – a clever idea and well executed.
Me too. Love how those once drab boxes now give us something to look at.
I swear — Hope Chest is a really good one. Such a talented artist!
Thank you for coming this way, Debiie. 🙂
That is a funny one in the chest!
😀 It’s so cute!
Thank you for visiting, Marianne. 🙂
Those are great. My only visit to Ventura was to go to an automobile dealer for service, so I didn’t see any streets! We were spending time in Santa Barbara, but Ventura was the closest dealer. Such is life.
be well… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Oh!
There’s quite a bit of art out on the streets.
And Venice Beach, west of LA has a WHOLE lot of them!
Have a good week, Mae. 🙂
California Dreaming is a beautiful mural, but Hope Chest is so realistic! Great murals and thanks for participating Dee.
Nice to see you back 🙂
Some really good ones, no? 🙂
I know– I’ve been gone for too long. Thank you so much for hosting and keeping it all going, Sami. 🙂
Have a fab week! And stay safe, too.
third one is really realistic. I can imagine how your little boy was startled 🙂
Seriously! My little girl, actually. 🙂 She got startled and she was upset for a bit. 😀
Thank you for coming this way, Klara,
Have a GREAT week!
I finally got back online late last night and am now playing catch-up. I LOVE the utility boxes. It’s sad they haven’t caught on in the center of the U.S. yet.
Artwork on utility boxes make such fun finds.
I’m sure you’ll see a whole lot of them, soon. 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by. 🙂
beautiful murals….great art works.
Have a wonderful weekend
True. 🙂
Thank you, Tanza. You have a good one, too. 🙂
