One day we when we were totally at loose ends, we decided to pay Stockton a visit. We’d never been to Stockton, CA; only heard of it. Stockton is the headquarters of San Joaquin County, which is one of the 58 counties of California. This city that is built on the Stockton River, seems to have grown to become what it is today because of the network of waterways around it. Stockton also proudly wears the badge of the largest inland Seaport on US’s West Coast. As such our main attraction for the day was the Stockton Waterfront.
When we got to Stockton, we drove around its streets for a while and found that it had some really handsome looking buildings. We then headed to Stockton Marina and Joan Darrah Promenade, which is one of the biggest attractions in the city. Any why shouldn’t it be; just look at these pictures from a stroll at the waterfront:

Such a pristine and beautiful riverfront. Reminded me of the waterways of Kerala.
Pristine, it was.
I'm sure it looks great in the evenings too. I should do an evening walk there.

The blue skies sure contributed to the loveliness of the water and the waterfront itself.
Wonderful captures from the place. Gives a good idea of the surroundings there.
I haven't seen much of the city.

Serene it was, the waterfront area.
It was an easy stroll. I've gotta do one some evening and see the magic light creates, there.
Thank you coming by, Leena.
You do get around.. (My kind of life! ). Years and years ago our camper van broke down near Stockton and we spent an awful lot of vacation hours there without a car, so it doesn't have great memories for me. We should go back sometime, now that we are old and our vehicle is new … If anything breaks down nowadays it will be us, not our car probably ;)))
haha!
Oh yeah? I don't know much about what else there is to see around here. I would love to go check them out and I will be doing just that, soon.
Next time that happens maybe I'll come and hang out with you. 🙂
Stockton is beautiful, just as the eyes of your camera tell us. Lucky you! Thank you for sharing those moments.
This part of the city looked truly beautiful. I see that it has more to show. I hope I'll get to bring more sights to you.
Thank YOU, USP.
