Dusk rolling into Grand Canyon Village

Watch thick dark clouds streaked with some warm colors take over the skies over Grand Canyon Village one winter evening. A grand show in the sky >>
Sunset sky, Grand Canyon Village

One evening at Grand Canyon Village, AZ

When we were at Grand Canyon National Park in early January, we got to see some spectacular sunset sky at Grand Canyon Village in the park. We had just gotten there and the sun was in the process of setting and there were dark-clouds-streaked-with-some-warm-colors rolling in. It was a sight to record.

I was in a hurry to walk up to the rim of the Grand Canyon and catch a glimpse of it before the last bit of natural light was gone. But I couldn’t go without taking a few pictures of the grand show in the sky so I quickly clicked some pictures on my phone and I have to share them with you:

When we were ‘almost there.’

The full picture — the panorama shot that just had to be taken.

And did I get to see the Grand Canyon that evening? Yes I did. I had a few minutes to see it in the evening light before night rolled in. That, in another post. πŸ˜‰

      Thank you so much. πŸ™‚
I have no idea, Lensq. πŸ™‚ These are just regular cell-phone shots I took in a jiffy ‘coz I wanted to hurry to the canyon to catch a glimpse of it before it was completely dark.

[…] If you came by this blog last week, you might have seen pictures of a dramatic sunset sky at Grand Canyon Village. Β After recording those sights at the parking lot of the visitor center at the Village, I made my way to Mather Point to have my first look of the grandest canyon in the world. Later, as I was walking back to the parking lot I set eyes on a beautiful yellow sky below the dark clouds I had seen earlier. (If you missed that post you might want to see Dusk rolling into Grand Canyon Village.) […]
