As we move into the thick of fall, here’s looking back on some fall colorΒ from Colorado from a few years ago. These are pictures from Windsor Lake in Denver, Colorado.
It was a November day. Some trees had already lost its leaves but there still was a lot of fall color around. We had an easy day ahead of us before we were to fly back to sunny California (after nearly a weeklong vacation). The plan for the day was a walk around Windsor Lake and enjoy a quiet autumn day.
Windsor Lake is a reservoir situated inside what used to be Breakers Resort (Apartment Villages). And this lakeΒ has a paved trail around it. Called the Lake Loop Trail, this path runs close to two miles in distance. Β We had only covered a fourth of the trail when it started drizzling. We kept on walking thinking it wouldn’t last too long even though it was an overcast day. As we got farther away from where we had started the walk, there were more showers. And then there were snowflakes coming down.
In the middle of all that was the lake sitting pretty even though it was a grey day. And it seemed to have some shades of yellow and red — the colours of the seasonΒ — for company.
By the time we were done with ourΒ hike-in-the rain and snow, we were drenched. (And it took some red wine and Jalapeno Bajjis to bring some life back into me.) Β But we had had a good walk, saw some lovely sights and a got a few pictures to take back with us.
The not-so-bad pictures from that day are in a gallery on the top of this post. Enjoy the sights. π
And HAPPY FALL!! (And happy Halloween)

My absolute favourite picture from that walk around Windsor Lake, however, was this one:

Even though it is gloomy, the colors of the surroundings make up for it. It feels already cold though!
Oh yes! those colors do. π
Stay warm.
Thank you for visiting, Andrea. :
These colors are so mesmerizing. Each looks likes an invitation to go on a jungle walk and soak in the beauty of nature. My favorite is the second one with the trees and lake in the background
Fall colours! Such a treat, aren’t they? π
