The week before last I was desperate to go on a drive and we made an impromptu trip to San Luis Reservoir in California’s Central Valley. On the way south we got off the highway for some gas. And when we saw that there were some restaurants nearby, we decided to pick up a picnic lunch. Deciding on Chinese, we drove toward the red and white sign that told us there was a Panda Express, there. When we got there, I saw a really neat Panda mosaic mural staring back at us.
And didn’t that mosaic panda on the wall look familiar!
I didn’t know what town we were in, only that it was just off Interstate 5 in California. But I knew we’d stopped at this particular restaurant sometime in the last two years, thanks to that Panda mosaic mural. We’ve gone down that route so many times and stopped at so many different places. It was that mosaic that told me we’d been there before.
Isn’t this Panda mosaic mural, a very attractive piece of work?
I’m sure, I’d taken a few pictures of that mosaic Panda before, but I don’t know what album is in. So I just went ahead and took a few more.
If you happen to see some mosaic art with an adorable panda and some bamboo and you find yourself in front of a Panda Express restaurant, you just might be in Gustine, California. 😉

Come, Trip with us. 🙂
…there is a Panda Express restaurant just down the street from where I’m staying. I need to see if they have a mural like this one.
Good luck, Tom. 🙂
They also have a lot of great photographs of pandas in these restaurants, don’t they?
Hi there – nice picture, although I think that the panda looks a little sad!
Cheers – Stewart M – Melbourne
Do they?:)
Maybe you’re right, Stewart.
Thank you so much for coming this way. 🙂
Such a cute mural Dee, I love pandas! In Australia they have 2 pandas at the Adelaide Museum, and I was thrilled to be able to see them a few years ago.
Thanks for contributing.
True — very cute. They seem to have some really cute looking pandas in their restaurants, sometimes in paintings, sometimes photographs.
They are adorable!
Thank you for hosting, Sami.:)
Mosaics are a fascinating type of murals! Very nice.

I’m sure it must be a bit of work to get it all set perfectly like that.
Thank you for coming by, Mae.
