A few posts ago, I had suggested thinking about holidaying in Morro Bay if you have California Coast plans this summer. Apart from the Pacific Ocean, Morro Rock and the fresh seafood, the public art in Morro Bay is something you might want to look at.

While we strolled through the length of Morro Bay’s Embarcadero, I found some street art on trash receptacles and some of the walls of the buildings there. I didn’t manage to see them all but I did bring back pictures of some of art I came across.

In this post, let me show you some art on the concrete trash cans that I found along Embarcadero as we walked from the south end towards the towering Morro Rock, after which the town and the bay here are named.

These works seem to have been a result of ‘A Morro Bay BEAUTIFUL project, a non-profit initiative to beautify the seaside town, plant more greenery and keep it clean.

Apparently, there are 24 such trash cans in the City of Morro Bay. (And they seem to have been sponsored by different people and businesses.)

Have you spotted any of this kind of public art in Morro Bay? If yes, do leave links to your blog or social media posts of them.

(Coming soon: More art from Morro Bay)

These are incredible. I wish they would paint trash receptacles like that everywhere. I’ve never seen concrete trash cans before. All I’ve ever seen are the ugly plastic kind. These make beautiful art.

Wow, I wish we had someone turning our trash cans into beauty!
Maybe more people would use them, too…

Those are some good looking trash cans.
Maybe. If I had a choice, I’d put my trash into those plastic ones that stand just beside the painted ones. :D.
