A few posts ago, I had suggested thinking about holidaying in Morro Bay if you have California Coast plans this summer. Apart from the Pacific Ocean, Morro Rock and the fresh seafood, the public art in Morro Bay is something you might want to look at.
While we strolled through the length of Morro Bay’s Embarcadero, I found some street art on trash receptacles and some of the walls of the buildings there. I didn’t manage to see them all but I did bring back pictures of some of
In this post, let me show you some art on the concrete trash cans that I found along Embarcadero as we walked from the south end towards the towering Morro Rock, after which the town and the bay here are named.
These works seem to have been a result of ‘A Morro Bay BEAUTIFUL project, a non-profit initiative to beautify the seaside town, plant more greenery and keep it clean.
Public Art in Morro Bay
Apparently, there are 24 such trash cans in the City of Morro Bay. (And they seem to have been sponsored by different people and businesses.)
Have you spotted any of this kind of public art in Morro Bay? If yes, do leave links to your blog or social media posts of them.
(Coming soon: More art from Morro Bay)

…I will never look at a lowly trash receptacles the same again!
Those are some beautiful trash cans, aren’t they?. 🙂
Have a great week, Tom.
These are incredible. I wish they would paint trash receptacles like that everywhere. I’ve never seen concrete trash cans before. All I’ve ever seen are the ugly plastic kind. These make beautiful art.
It IS a great idea, is it not? We should see more of these.
Welcome here. 🙂
I love the idea. And it’s well done
They really are. I wish I’d gone looking for more of these works. 🙂
Thank you for coming this way, Bertie. 🙂
Wow, I wish we had someone turning our trash cans into beauty!
Maybe more people would use them, too…
Those are some good looking trash cans.
Maybe. If I had a choice, I’d put my trash into those plastic ones that stand just beside the painted ones. :D.
They do look so much better with a bit of colour, love the sunset one 🙂
Thanks for contributing Dee.
They really do.
The sunset one is pretty. I also like the one with Morro Rock on it.
Thank you for hosting, Sami. 🙂
It made the trash cans so more appealing. I like it.
True that.
Nice to see you here, again. Have a great week. 🙂
Beautiful art works.
Thanks for the post.
Such a cool idea, no?
Thank YOU for visiting, Rupam. 🙂
Hello, it is nice to see these public places looking beautiful. I love the murals. Thank you for linking up you post. Have a happy day and week ahead. PS< thanks always for your comment and visits to my blog.
They do add beauty to the place.
Thank you for allowing us to link to your anniversary post. Happy Blogiversary, Eileen.
I hope you are having a good week. 🙂
And they add so much color to the totally mundane scene!
They really do.
And this way, it’s not too hard to spot a trash can. 😀
Such a wonderful thought!
Hmm… yeah. They sure add beauty to the scene. 🙂
[…] we spent one morning doing a leisurely walk through Embarcadero. That was when I spotted those trash receptacles (the ones you saw in the previous MondayMural post). I also saw these surf and underwater murals on […]
