Talk about Venice Beach and the panorama that runs through my mind is a collage of art, of
Walk down to the beach near the Skate Park (this one is also on the beach) and you will see two towering cones covered in graffiti. Look around the area you will see some dumpsters, some low walls even some palms coated with color.
Venice Beach’s Art Walls
I hear that the Venice Art Walls are also called Graffiti Walls and they are meant to be a canvas for graffiti-style art.
Artists who would like to see their art showcased here can apply for a permit that is given by a local arts organization called ICU (In Creative Unity). The permit, which can be acquired by submitting an application to the organization allows artists to paint on these concrete cones and the natural and manmade structures around it. The permit does not cost the artist(s) any money but they are required to follow some rules

Come, Trip with us.
WOW. What a lot of color. Something truly different in the way of murals. Lots of different styles here, too. I’ve only been to Venice Beach once, and it was in the late 1990s. Things have probably changed a lot since I was there.
Oh yes! The colors do stand out.
It’s still full of life — maybe crazier. The energy of the place sure gives Venice Beach it’s character. 🙂
I found it to be a very interesting place.
Thank you for coming this way. 🙂
Very colorful! I like especially the last capture, looks like a warm evening, aww…
Hey Iris,
It sure is very colourful and attractive.
And the weather that evening was very pleasant. 🙂
Interesting artwork painted on those concrete cone. Thanks for contributing Dee.
That was the best part — the street art on those tall cones.
It was even better to know that they are there just for the art. 🙂
Thank you for hosting, Sami. 🙂
A very colourful painted artpiece!
The colours and the cones were very eye-catching. 🙂
Thank you for visiting, Marianne. 🙂
Beautiful clicks 😊 Dee
Love street art!
It’s difficult not to! 🙂
Have a great week, Jackie. 🙂
…lots of wonderful colors, but I don’t like them on the trees!
Me too — I was not happy to see the colors on the trees.
Have a good week, Tom. 🙂
Me, too… was’t too happy to see paint on the trees.
Have a good week, Tom.
Such a great way to foster creative paintings while still also fostering respect for property where the owners may not wish to be painted.
best… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
You are so right, Mae. It was so nice to know that this area is just for street art and that it was not difficult for artistes to get permission to paint here. 🙂 Such a win-win.
Have a lovely week. 🙂
We have an art wall near our main beach in town. It was left when an old hockey arena was torn down. We also have quite a few wall murals popping up. – Margy
That’s nice. Walls put to good use, eh! 🙂
Thank you for stopping by, Margy. 🙂
Surely unique graffiti!
Those structures are very interesting, aren’t they? 🙂
Cool shots.
Thank you, Lady Fi. 🙂
Lovely!
🙂
This is so unique! Street art of any kind attract so much of attention. It’s like a free museum or art gallery. 🙂
You are so right, Renuka. Street art is like an open-air gallery. (Good for those of us who enjoy it. 😉 )
Love the vivid colors.
The colors are a reflection of the culture of Venice. 🙂
It’s a very interesting place
Thank you for coming this way, Sandra. 🙂
Amazing wall graffiti.
Loved the post and pics.
It’s all over Venice. Cool, no?
Thank you, Rupam. 🙂
Divya, at times I get jealous of you! Amazing moments those on the Venetian beach with beach walls.
This was a very interesting place. Very different from the other Californian beaches.
And there’s SO MUCH art here and that only adds to the character of the place. You can visit it through this blog. 😉 There’s a post on Venice, California.

Wonderful artwork! Nice find, Divya.

Thanks Nomad. 🙂
It’s quite interesting to see so many things happening across the world pertaining to art. This looks wonderful and a great opportunity for street artists! Love what they are doing there. It actually helps people to get more aware of the art scenario and paves way for more meaningful interaction. Thanks for sharing such awesome posts Dee! 🙂
It is.
That was what I thought too — great opportunity for artists to display their work in a busy public place like this beach.
True that — there is a lot of meaningful conversation coming out of works like this. So many social messages are also being conveyed thro’ art, alle?
Thank you for coming this way and leaving a comment, Deepa. I hope you are having a good week. 🙂
