Reno is known for its neon lights. So while we were in Reno we did put a tick-mark on ‘ driving through the town to see all the neon lights.’ After catching some neon grandeur followed by some shut-eye, I managed to be up to see the natural light come on in the city. In other words, I got to witness a Reno sunrise while I was there. (Interestingly, most of the sunrises I’ve caught, have been on trips. :D)
That day the sun rose from the back of a building. When I woke up, the lights of The Biggest Little City in the World were still on and decorating the cityscape. Then a warm glow began to appear behind a fairly-tall building that was visible from our room at Circus Circus. And when the sun finally peeped out from that hiding place behind the building, the city lights seemed to fade away.
Now even before the sun was visible from where I was placed, I think there were some reflections bouncing off the shiny buildings of Reno, for I caught a bright light – a starburst on the building opposite me. Or was it a bit of the sun itself shining through the windows of the building? I was confused. I still am. (I’m leaning towards ‘reflection.’) Anyway, I got some cool shots of the sun arriving and driving the darkness (and the city lights) away.
