If you are in Tahoe in the summer, or late spring (after the Covid19 pandemic, of course), you should find a way to be on those rich blue waters of the lake. Try to go paddling or canoeing or do a cruise across the lake. Or try a private Tahoe boat tour on North America’s largest alpine lake.
On our very first trip to Lake Tahoe, way back in 2011, we had opted for a Lunch Cruise aboard the Bleu Wave. The cruise began at Round Hill Pine Beach in Nevada. And then we passed a watery Stateline to get into California and to Emerald Bay in the South Western Part. Last summer, when we went up there to the alpine lake, it was our littlest oneโs first trip to the lake so we thought she, all of five, should have her experience on those extraordinary waters. A last-minute search for a cruise for the next day led hubby to some private boat tours, and he was carried away by the idea. He thought it was okay to indulge in one this time so that the little girl would have an opportunity to be on the lake and the rest of us could have a different kind of experience in Tahoe. And we fell for the idea, too.
Tahoe Boat Tour
Our private boat tour was to start out at Tahoe Keys in South Lake Tahoe and head for Emerald Bay and be back at the Keys Marina a couple of hours later. As weโd been to Emerald Bay earlier I wasnโt too excited about the route. However, I was happy to be out on the lake again and on a tour of a different kind, this time around. Our craft was a โski boatโ said Scottie โour captain โ when asked about it.
On our way to Emerald Bay, he pointed out Pope Beach and Cathedral Beach, Mt. Tallac, and Mt. Freel. It was nice to hear the story of Laura Knight, her Vikingsholm Castle, and her Tea House on Fanette Island, one more time. Later, we were shown some creeks flowing into the bay and some vacation homes. And we also learned about the fauna and flora, in and around the lake.
It was a beautiful summer evening. We also had a feel of the power of the boat. The kids loved sitting at the helm and taking in the lake and the ride. We sure a bit of an adrenaline rush from the cruising and the swerving on the blue waters. And when the sun was beginning to say adieu, we were back at the Keys. And I must say the private boat tour was WAY better than I expected it to be and I was pretty tipsy from the trip. ๐
If youโve been to Tahoe and have tried one of those Lake Tahoe Cruises, I say, this has to be your next experience. If youโd like to go for the same boat company that we opted for, Lake Tahoe Boat Ride is the name and it has a big THUMBS UP from Tipsy from the TRIP. (You might also want to ask for Captian Scottie to take you on the ride. He gets a big Thumbs up, too)
Happy Private Boat Touring of Tahoe. ๐

Happy Wednesday!
Yeah, it does look different in the winter. My earlier trips to Tahoe were also in the winter.
This was the first time that I went in the Summer. And it was not bad at all. ๐
Thank you for stopping by, Veronica. ๐
the lake looks big and beautiful views….
It is pretty big and what you see in this post is a tiny bit of it. In fact, this is the largest alpine lake in North America.
