This week, for Monday Mural, I have some Luxor murals. This is not the Luxor — the city in Egypt but the one in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The last time we were in Las Vegas, we were there for just a night on our way from Monument Valley. That night, from among the themes that the hotels in the city have to offer, we picked Egyptian. As such, on my way into the property and out of it the next morning, I got to look at the Egyptian artwork on the wall of the Luxor Hotel and Casino.
Luxor Murals and Engravings
Most of these Luxor murals are from the atrium and some from the hallways of the hotel & resort. The engravings are from one of the side entrances/ exits we took when we went out for a stroll late that evening.
Luxor, Las Vegas
The Egyptian themed Luxor Hotel and Casino is on Las Vegas Strip in Sin City and it has a building shaped like a pyramid in which there are many of its guest rooms and in the middle of the pyramid is an atrium that is said to be among the largest ones in the world.
There’s also a model of the Sphinx and an obelisk that also has some engravings on it.
Did you know: The city of Las Vegas has several destination-themed hotels and Resorts?

Come, Trip with us.
Las Vegas is really something, isn’t it? More real than reality.
be well… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I’m always impressed by all the work that goes into all those re-creations in Vegas.
Thank you, Mae.
You take care and have a good week, too. ๐
At first I thought it was Egypt!
It took me sometime to realize its not Egypt !
@Ashok I’m sure.
Thank you for visiting. ๐
๐
Some good work there, eh. ๐
Thank you for coming this way, Bertie. ๐
Oh, this makes me nearly cry. I was with a dumb man, I was young, 18? Him 25. We went to Egypt for real. Amongst other, Cairo. The last money he spent to ride a camel, nothing left to visit the pyramids, that were closed some years after. We could have visited the pyramids and rode on a camel instead. And I didnยดt know it was the last bit of money we had with us for the day.
Uh-oh!
That must have been really disappointing. I hope you got to see the pyramids later, Iris.
Something tells me that those egyptian reliefs are very recent. Must be great craftsmen in the older days. And all that in Las Vegas.
I think this property was built in the 90’s. The work might have had a touch-up recently, tho’
Vegas does have some interesting replicas. ๐
Egypt came to Vegas. Very nice murals Dee, thanks for contributing.
I did, I guess. And some other place did too. And the last time I was there, there were signs of more destinations coming to Sin City. ๐
Thank you so much for hosting, Sami. ๐
Sorry I’m late visiting. I’ve been fighting keeping my internet going. It went down Monday and ATT sent someone out Tuesday to work on the problem. Now I’m finally back online. Vegas is more fantasy than anything. The casinos do everything the can to keep you there because they don’t want you to leave their establishments. This was one of those places. Fun to visit at least. Great murals, Dee.
Hey Elizabeth,
Oh — we really do need the internet these days now that we’re so stuck at home. ๐
True, they’ve done all kinds of things in Vegas. I don’t go very often but it sure is a fun place.
Thank you, Elizabeth. Have a good week. ๐
