On our second trip to the Point Reyes Peninsula, we were passing through the small, little town of Point Reyes Station when my eyes fell upon some color on one of the walls. It was a colorful painting of what looked like a picture of what you might see in the area. The mural had some fauna and flora of the peninsula and the Pacific Ocean, which it was surrounded by.
Here’s another drive-by shot of that mural from Point Reyes Station.
This colorful mural from Point Reyes Station is on an imposing brick building called Grandi Building and is said to have been painted by Wyatt Hersey. I read it was created for the 2018 Geography of Hope Conference.
If you would like to see more of artist Wyatt Hersey’s signature work you can see it here — Hersey’s official site. He does seem to have a style of his own. And his creations give you lots to look at, and lots of color, too.
If you are in the Point Reyes area, here are some things you can do there–
See the beaches of Point Reyes Peninsula
Make it a point to go see the picturesque Point Reyes Lighthouse
And there should be no missing the Cypress Tree Tunnel

…nature is always a good choice for art and this mural is a good example. The building is a wonderful canvas for the mural. Thanks!
Nature sure is.
That’s what I thought too — the brick building looks like a great background for that mural.
