Found: A picture of Tehachapi, found in Tehachapi and done by Tehachapi artist Lyn Bennett. To be more precise, there’s more than just the city of Tehachapi in this mural. This is actually Tehachapi and its surroundings in a mural. In it are the Tehachapi Mountains of California, the towns near it, a few highways and some local landmarks, which include some Gas Stations in the area.
And might I say I found this mural at one of those gas stations, too. I hear that there are other gas stations here with murals, some of which have been done by the same artist.
Apart from the towns and roads of the area, the mural gives us an idea about the farming done here, wind farms in Tehachapi, the natives of the area, and also a bit about the Tehachapi Loop.
The Tehachapi Loop is a loop in the railroad here. As the tracks pass through the Tehachapi Pass, it loops around a hill allowing trains — mostly cargo ones — to gradually navigate the granite slopes of the mountain pass. Often a longer train crosses itself here, as a part of the train is in the tunnel and another part of it is on the loop above the tunnel.

Come, Trip with us. 😉
So much to see in that huge mural. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Dee.
Yeah, there is. And it was quite big too so I was trying to catch as much of it as I could.
Thank you for hosting, Sami. 🙂
Railway sure gets me everywhere now! Nice mural.
Yeah?
Yeah, this was a nice one. It succeeded in documenting quite a lot about the area. 🙂
Have a good week, Iris. 🙂
…this is a fabulous history and geography lesson all rolled into one!
Isn’t it?! 👍👍
Thank you for coming this way, Tom. 🙂
Nice murals! I like the depiction of locations and how the geography is laid out.

It’s got a whole area in there. (Some of the major points of the southern part of San Joquin Valley are in it. )
Thank you for stopping by, Mae. 🙂
Those are some fascinating murals, Dee. I love how it encompasses so much area rather than just a small part of the town. This was remarkable and so well done.
That is true. It’s got a good part of the area. And those low, rolling hills actually look like that in the summer months. 🙂
Thank you, Elizabeth.
Good week to you. 🙂
