Itβs not far from where I live so it had been on the cards for a long time. And perhaps it was the proximity of it that made me move it to the back burner β you know β like saving it for those days when we need a quick, short break? Finally, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bethany Reservoir had its chance to be seen on Tipsy from the Tripβ the blog. π
It was on a fall day that we visited the reservoir. With the rains not having arrived yet, the surrounding hills of the Diablo range were still on the dry side but the lake sure looked pretty under the blue skies and in its quiet surroundings.
With the parking lot closed off in order to ‘flatten the curveβ of the novel coronavirus infection graph of the state, there werenβt many people out that morning. There was not much activity going on in the area as the water sports and picnicking in the park were on hold. There were a couple of people out fishing and only a few walkers taking advantage of the pleasant late-November weather. As such, the water was still and the air was almost silent.
This is what Bethany Reservoir looked like when I walked around a part of it that November morning.
Where exactly is Bethany Reservoir?
Bethany Reservoir is situated within the larger Bethany Reservoir State Recreation Area in Alameda County.
Situated in the rain-shadow slopes of the Diablo Mountain Range in California, Bethany Reservoir is kind-of surrounded by places like Livermore, Mountain House and Brentwood, CA.
