Think Tahoe and you’re thinking about that big blue alpine lake or the skiing around there. Have you seen the pubic art in Tahoe (South Lake Tahoe or Stateline? I hear that all the permitted street art around town has helped bring down the graffiti/tagging that used to happen.
There’s quite a bit of pubic art in Tahoe. The last time I was up there, I happened upon some art on what might have been electrical/utility boxes. I brought back some pictures of art I found near Heavenly Village.
They seemed to be paintings of nature: of mountains and trees, plants, animals and birds. The more I look at them, the more I feel they are depictions of the fauna and flora of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and its rich environs.
There is even a painting of a body of rich blue water. And that just might be Lake Tahoe, itself.
Utility Box – Public Art in Tahoe
These paintings on those public electrical boxes in Heavenly Village seem to have been put together by Dreams and Visions Art (.com). That was what I saw written on one of the boxes there.
Have you come across any of the murals or other forms of public art in the Tahoe area? They also have some wooden carving all over the town of South Lake Tahoe. Seen that?

The painted utility boxes are beautiful, each with a different them relating to the area.
